Commercial Director
Client Description:
Adecco Permanent Placement is looking for a Commercial Director for one of its clients, a chemical products distributor, located in Jilava.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Coordination and Management:
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of product managers and industry managers.
• Plan and align industry managers’ activities and coordinate desk and field sales operations.
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and guide the sales and commercial team.
• Managing the sales support team
2. Budgeting and Financial Planning:
• Develop industry-level budgets with industry managers, including detailed product and customer-level planning.
• Collaborate with product managers to create product-specific budgets.
• Consolidate and prepare overall commercial budgets for management approval.
3. Sales and Performance Analysis:
• Monitor and analyze sales activity using Salesforce, providing support and guidance to the sales team.
• Track sales performance by industry and product, identifying areas for improvement or growth.
• Implement and maintain an A-B-C customer rating system, ensuring top-tier service for A customers.
4. Strategic Planning:
• Establish growth strategies for existing and new markets with current and new product offerings.
• Guide the team in identifying and prioritizing cash-cow products.
• Collaborate with product managers to prepare commercial pricing policies tailored to industries and products.
5. Operational Management:
• Approve purchase orders based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels.
• Check alternative suppliers and prices with product managers, ensuring competitive market knowledge.
• Facilitate inter-departmental collaboration and resolve operational bottlenecks.
6. Meetings and Reporting:
• Participate in weekly sales and purchasing meetings.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on performance, challenges, and strategies.
• Participate in the weekly and quarterly management meetings.
7. Customer and Market Focus:
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to refine strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
Candidate Profile:
1. Educational Background:
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
• Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
2. Professional Experience:
• At least 5-7 years of experience in commercial management or senior sales roles, preferably in the chemical or industrial sector.
• Proven track record in managing sales teams, budgeting, and market expansion strategies.
3. Skills and Competencies:
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent financial and analytical skills, with experience in budgeting and sales forecasting.
• Proficiency in CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and other sales management tools.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.
4. Strategic Mindset:
• Visionary approach to market growth and customer segmentation.
• Ability to identify opportunities and craft effective strategies for market penetration and product diversification.
5. Personal Attributes:
• Integrity, professionalism, and a customer-first approach.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
6. Additional Requirements:
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
• Availability for occasional travel to meet customers, suppliers, and partners.
